Fall Trends 2025
When a new season comes around it’s kind of exciting and stressful at the same time. No one wants to look dated but also don’t overspend to make it the best dressed on the planet. Right??? For women outside of the fashion industry it can be really confusing getting bombarded with all kinds of new garments and accessories every season and pretty much all the time. So that’s why I hope I can bring you a bit of clarity summarizing the trends that stand out to me the most, might be hanging around a bit longer and work for the majority of women.
Faux Fur/Fur Coats
Besides keeping us super warm, fur - if faux or real - instantly creates an elegant vibe and sometimes a vintage feel to an outfit. It’s great for layering or just wearing it over the shoulders for a more sophisticated touch. Pick a color and style that suits your style personality and ideally also your color and body type and I promise you, you will enjoy your purchase for a looooooong time.
Grey & Dark Blue Denim
When Fall/Winter comes around (especially in the cooler spots throughout the world) the denim usually turns darker. Side effect - darker colors make everyone look slimmer (who doesn’t like that? ;-) ) and at the same time they are more dressy and easier to dress up or down than their lighter colored twins. Obviously as long as you opt for a clean - no open hem or holes - pair of jeans. When it comes to versatility I just love grey jeans, they go so well with a ton of colors which is not the case with dark blue jeans.
Animal Print - Leopard, Snake or Zebra
Prints are a great way to create more interest and personality to an outfit. If a whole dress is too much for you, start little with a belt or a shoe. My all-time favorite is leopard print! Even my grandma wore it until she passed away at the age of 83. I might have inherited the love for leopard print from her… For me it’s never out of style, I stock up with some new pieces every time it comes around but wear it all year long - forever. If you have a cool undertone to your skin, I’d suggest opting for a grey or other cool toned leopard print instead or choosing zebra print instead.
Colorful & Lace Tights
A great way to set an accent, especially with an otherwise monochrome look. And obviously to hide any flaws on your legs - and not to forget to add some warmth while still staying stylish.
Pencil, Midi & Maxi Skirts
There literally is a skirt for every body type and style personality this fall/winter. I love the look of a great figure hugging pencil skirt paired with a beautiful blouse. It ensembles such a boss babe style with a little bit of sexiness. Thinking of maxi skirts for fall/winter I am picturing flowy materials like silks with a cashmere sweater, a statement belt and a beautiful pair of boots. Depending on your preference, that can be riding boots, cowboy boots or a pointed toe high heeled boot. If you love a bootie, make sure the upper part will be covered by the seam of the skirt.
1980’s & 1990’s Styles
Big shoulders, statement belts, bold jewelry. Don’t be afraid to add some boldness to your look. Big shoulder pieces are amazing for A-body types as they create more harmony with their natural shape. For all other body types they work as well, just be aware that your shoulders are more accentuated and you can either rock this style or balance it out by adding wide leg pants or an A-line skirt for example.
Oversized Bags, Chunky Loafers & Chain Strap Mini Bags
Take your oversized bag to the office, carrying your clutch bag and evening accessories in it for a Happy Hour or Dinner Out after work. So practical and chic at the same time! As long as the bag itself is not heavy, I’m game. To me if a bag is already weighing a lot without anything in it, it’s a no go. I don’t know about you, but I can’t carry heavy bags around all day long. Bags with chains you can actually take off are a win! Why - You can use that chain in so many different ways, not only to switch up the style of the bag, but a lot of times you can transform it into a belt or necklace. Versatility is key!
If you decide to invest into a chunky loafer make sure to style it with chunkier pieces also, like a thick knit sweater or an oversized coat for example. Please don’t pair chunky loafers with a pencil skirt and a silk blouse ever…
Pointed & Square Toes
Yep, you read that right. Square toes just got another trend round this fall/winter season and I love that for everyone with foot issues. They definitely provide way more room and edginess than their pointed toe sisters. The pointed toe is always more elongating but sometimes comfort trumps the focus on elongated legs I would say...
Suede, Tweed, Brocade, Plush
Give me all the textures! If you are not a fan of patterns, textured pieces have a similar effect in providing more interest and personality to your look. Suede is HUGE this fall!!! Don’t be afraid of stains, there is a great spray for this. Also faux suede is a great option if you prefer something washable.
Over-The-Knee & Slouchy Boots
Thinking Pretty Woman here… Over-the-knee boots are a beautiful pairing with mini skirts and dresses, shorts, but also worn over leggings or a skinnier pair of jeans. Slouchy boots create a relaxed look and are also great if you want to make your upper legs appear slimmer.
Color Blocking & Pattern Mixing
Time to play! This is not for stylexiety (just made up this word style+anxiety), you have to be a little more brave, not think too much and have fun. Also a great conversation starter - a mix of colors or patterns never goes unseen. ;-)
